DENVER JCC HONORS 50-YEAR EMPLOYEE
Rosie Wagner has worked for the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center in Denver, Colorado for 50 years and is still an integral part of the accounting department. Her
co-workers will celebrate her contributions to the JCC and the broader Jewish community with a sentimental tribute on September 7, 2008. Wagner started working at the JCC soon after high school graduation for a two-week stint, and that temporary assignment evolved into a half-century with her sole employer, which brought her to different worksites and through many roles.
“It's very hard for me to believe that I have been here this many years,” said Wagner. “The time has gone by very quickly.” Her JCC tasks over the years have spanned checking mail, answering calls, welcoming visitors, raising money, coordinating weekly senior lunches, and doing payroll.
“Rosie has dedicated herself far beyond her job responsibility to the JCC and the community,” says Amanda Biggs, chief financial officer and Wagner's supervisor for six years. “Her loyalty and love for the Center is beyond question.
“I most of all love what the JCC does for the community. It's a great place for all to come and enjoy,” Wagner stresses. “I love the fact that everyone is welcomed at the ‘J.'”
